The panoramic views from the Rigi are world-class. And The best way to enjoy them is by avoiding other tourists and by experiencing lots of them on an adventure. This tour is a freak of nature, a very flat 5km circuit route at an altitude of 1,000m, which combines mountain restaurants, the locations of the William Tell legend and some of the very best views of the Alps and the Lake of Lucerne.
All the lake is beautiful, but the part from Weggis to the Bay of Küssnacht is particularly beautiful and "romantic". This lake cruise re-traces the 1802 journey of the romantic painter JMW Turner and the sketches and famous paintings he made along the way. The cruise makes brief stops in Meggen (Hasburg Castle) and in Küssnacht, the towns associated with the William Tell Legend.
Concrete, cars and tourists have made the city of Lucerne much less beautiful than it was in the past. This tour avoids the tourist trail (where possible) and through experiences and story telling re-discovers the people and places that made Lucerne one of the most beautiful and inspiring medieval cities in Europe. The tour ends with the giant Lion of Lucerne, and its fascinating story.

The Lake of Lucerne Grand tour company was founded by Stephen Margarito on the 12th Feb 2020. Not the greatest of beginnings as world travel collapsed just a few days later.
With some “glass is half-full” thinking, and with hindsight, it was actually the perfect start for a tour company whose mission is to avoid the tourist crowds and connect with the natural & historic beauty of the region.
The brand is based on the premise that a journey is as interesting as the destination, and if you appreciate what you see and how it makes you feel along the way, it will make for a richer, more memorable experience.
Private trips in general can be customised for: families with children, high energy trips (hiking / cycling) or more relaxed trips (walking /sitting). Please WhatsApp or mail for more details
